Lucky me got to fly to Orange County for a weekend family trip. My cousin Monica is 7 months pregant with her first child. She and her husband have been together for 10 years and are very excited about this child. This is one lucky baby. I was very very happy to go when I got the invitation for her baby shower.

The baby shower was very classy, no games involving guessing what type of melted chocolate bar is in a diaper, no guessing how big around she is (I would be mortified), nothing stupid. I did get to mold a baby out of bubble gum, anatomically correct and all, but didn't win the contest.

The feast was delectable: coconut shrimp, satay, olive tapinade, fresh fruit, cheese, salad, savory pastries and brownies, pecan bars, and cake. Mimosas were served and I lost count of how many I had because they were SO good!

Before I flew home yesterday they took me to Downtown Disney, a shopping center that I suppose is close to Disneyland. I had never been there before. After checking out a few shops we wandered into Sephora where I was offered a FREE CHANEL MAKEOVER. Whooo! I got a rather aggressive, OCD, strange girl who kept bitching about the store, other employees, the disorganization of her makeup and roughly spackeling makeup on me. It was a little odd. She must have put about 10 different shades of eyeshadow on me, along with lot of goopy mascara and thick pancake makeup. I put the "scare" in mascara.

The eyeliner was so thick and dark I couldn't get it all off last night and still had to wipe some off this morning...it's still there! It must have taken more than 30 minutes to put on!. Okay, I am a 5 minute makeup girl; if it takes longer than that, I don't want to bother. I wear makeup to enhance and to have fun with colors, not to look like someone else. I wore it on the plane home and was still thickly covered when I landed in SFO. Tarik looked at me funny, but didn't say anything until I asked him what he thought of my new look. "Too much" was his reply. I think I looked a little like a drag queen.
